Course Description:

Tailoring treatment to each child’s individual needs is a foundational tenet of Responsive Feeding Therapy (RFT). A thorough assessment informs clinicians about families’ unique situations and enhances their treatment experience. This webinar invites you to take a closer look at how to assess feeding relationships. While it is typical to include elements such as food intake and feeding skills in our assessment, understanding the relational dynamics around food is a more nuanced process. Feeding relationships are dynamic and multidimensional. What seem like insignificant details may have great clinical relevance. 

In this webinar, Grace will review elements of feeding relationships and the practical aspects of assessment. Practical tips, tools, and considerations such as developmental stages, family structures, and family’s food culture etc. will be discussed. This webinar is appropriate for RDs, SLPs, OTs, mental health counselors and early intervention specialists new to RFT, as well as seasoned clinicians finetuning their practice in feeding relationships.

Grace Wong MSc, RD, CEDS-S

Grace Wong is a registered dietitian specializing in feeding and eating disorders. She works with all ages, and has extensive experience in pediatrics and mental health nutrition. Grace is experienced in working with a broad range of eating challenges along with complex co-existing conditions including medical conditions, mental health concerns, addictions, developmental concerns, and trauma. Besides her clinical practice, she provides training and supervision for health professionals working with feeding and eating disorders in Canada and overseas.
